Fusion Technology training and certification for SMAW (shielded metal arc welding, also called "arc welding").  We can provide general training without certification, or certification to AWS D1.1, B2.1 and many other specifications. 

 

A typical SMAW training program will cover the following items: 
-  Welding technique for flat, vertical, and overhead welding

-  Identification and selection of electrode rods for different applications

-  Flat and vertical out-of-position welding

-  AC vs DC welding

-  Pre and post heating

-  Peening

-  Care and use of low hydrogen electrodes

-  Storage and re-baking of low hydrogen electrodes

-  Basic welding metallurgy

 

      

 

-  Full-color training manuals for each student that are tailored to the

    particular customer's welding and cutting equipment and requirements.

-  Classroom instruction with Power Point presentation

-  Hands-on training for each student on their respective equipment.

    The hands-on training may be individual or performed with pairs or small

    groups.

-  Databasing of training records

-  Written recommendations for process improvement.
