Fusion Technology provides
TIG (GTAW) training and certification for all types of industries and focuses
on the special requirements of the medical device, vacuum tube, and electronics industries. High vacuum welding
and welding of special alloys like titanium, aluminum, Inconel, Kovar, cupronickel, Monel, nickel, and Hastalloy are often included
in our special training programs.
We conduct training and certification for manual, semi-automatic,
automatic, and orbital TIG welding. Certification is available for most commercial and military specifications including
AWS D1.1, API, ASME, MIL-256C, MIL-1595 and others.
Fusion Technology also conducts high level TIG welding
theory classes for Designers and Engineers.
A typical operator level TIG training program will cover the following items:
- Safe
work practices for TIG welding
- Types of tungsten electrode used for TIG and thier properties
- Cleanliness
- Internal purging for critical
metals
- Effect of heat input and weld travel speed on heat affected zone
- Controlling carbide precipitation in TIG welded stainless
steel
- Quality, defects, and inspection of TIG welded joints
- Cleanliness of base metal before TIG welding
- Techniques
for vacuum welding
- Special considerations for welding of exotic, refractory, and precious
metals.
- Machine set-up
and special functions
Included with each training program:
- Full-color training manuals for each student that are tailored
to the
particular customer's TIG equipment and requirements.
- Classroom instruction with Power
Point presentation
- Hands-on training for each student on their respective equipment.
The hands-on
training may be individual or performed with pairs or small
groups.
- Certification cards
- Databasiang
of training records
- Written recommendations for TIG process improvement
