Fusion Technology provides operator level
laser beam welding (LBW) training and certification for
all types of industries and specializes in applications involving very thin, refractory, and precious metals used in medical, electron
power, and electronic devices. Training is available for manual and semi-automatic laser spot welding, as well as fully
automatic processes.
Fusion Technology also conducts high level laser beam welding theory classes for
Designers and Engineers.
A typical operator level LBW training program will cover the following items:
- Safe work practices for
lasers
- Eye protection
- Effects of surface reflectivity on laser penetration
- laser focus
- Effect of laser pulse width on weld penetration
-
Relationship between Joules, power, and penetration.
- Quality, defects, and inspection of laser welded joints
- Cleanliness
of base metal before laser welding
- Laser weld joint design and fitup
- Considerations for laser welding of different materials ie.
stainless steel,
molybdenum, tungsten, nickel, copper, platinum, etc
- Laser equipment operation
Included
with each training program:
- Full-color training manuals for each student that are tailored to the
particular customer's
laser equipment and requirements.
- Classroom instruction with Power Point presentation
- Hands-on training for each student on
their respective equipment.
The hands-on training may be individual or performed with pairs or small
groups.
- Certification cards
- Databasing of training records
- Written recommendations for LBW process improvement
